'Survivor' Winner Hatch Has IRS Problems On the first season of CBS' popular "Survivor" franchise, Richard Hatch managed to outwit, outplay and outlast all of his fellow competitors. Perhaps he felt that he could also outwit, outplay and outlast the IRS.According to documents obtained by the good people at TheSmokingGun.com, Hatch was charged on Tuesday (Jan. 18) with filing a 2000 tax return that conveniently omitted the fact that he had won one million bucks on a popular CBS reality show. Hatch also allegedly forgot to mention the $10,000 he was paid for that season's "Survivor" reunion show.In a second charge, the IRS filing, unsealed today in U.S. District Court in Rhode Island, claims that Hatch also filed a false return in 2001 when he failed to mention the $321,000 he was reportedly paid to serve as co-host of "The Wilde Show" on WQSX-FM in Boston.Hatch is set to be arraigned on the charges in a Providence federal court on Wednesday, Jan. 26. Facing felony charges, Hatch could be fined $250,000 and, as an extreme, he could face a maximum of five years in prison for each of the two counts.
